The Simplest way to get ManyFractals to do something interesting is to click the am button on the
toolbar. This will start ManyFractals Auto Magnifying on the Mandelbrot Set. You might want to go
into the Control Panel first, by clicking on the CP button. The Auto Magnify settings are on the
Main Tab, which is displayed initially.
You could also switch to another equation, such as Z^F + C and enter a value in the Start F box
on the Equations Tab. Try entering 3 for Start F. If You have a Pentium 3 class processor or
newer you could try Z^F + C using SSE, as it is much faster.
Another way to get Started is with just the normal basics of a fractal generator. Click GO, and the
Mandelbrot Set will be displayed. Now position the mouse cursor over the image, somewhere
there is some interesting detail. Press and hold down the left mouse button, then move the
mouse a little bit. This is called dragging, and by doing this a Magnify Box will appear. When the
Box is about the size you want, release the left mouse button. If you click on the image again, the
box will jump to the mouse cursor, and if you hold down the button and move the mouse, the box
can be dragged around the image. Once you have it where you want it, click GO. Congratulations
! You just made your first magnification ! Keep going ! This is how one explorers a fractal.
